—Game Review— A World of Keflings

Grabbed this one free one month for being a Gold Xbox Live Member. Figured the kids would enjoy it. I was right.

Synopsis?
You are...well, yourself, or more specifically, your Xbox avatar, and you are asked by the Keflings to help build their villages and vanquish some foes for them.

First impressions?
It's been a while since I first played this, but I was almost instantly addicted. I almost completed the main game in one sitting. It's pleasant, laid-back, a nice way to just chill. And amusing.

Graphics and voices?
Just plain cute, the way that Xbox avatars are cute. The voices are rather hilarious, since the spoken language is nothing more than jibberish.

Gameplay?
Nothing too strenuous. My kids like it (10 and 12 at the time of this post). You move the tiny Keflings around, making them do specific jobs to fill certain criteria, all in an effort to save their world.

There are little extra things you can do that are pretty fun. There are cannons that play music when you stick a Kefling in them. It shoots the Kefling out, playing a note as (s)he flies into the next cannon. The process continues until the Kefling is shot out to land on the ground, at which time (s)he wanders off. I set mine up in a circle so the music continuously plays. You can change the instrument and the notes, making an actual song. It's kinda cool. ♥

It can all be seen in the official trailer I've linked below. ▼

Storyline?
The storyline is charmingly simple, and that really works for this type of game.

Complaints?
Um...none really. It is what it is. Nothing more and nothing less.

Overall?
Cute game, family-friendly, nice way to chill.

My rating?
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 8/10 life hearts.
I liked it well enough to buy all the playable DLC. That says more than anything else, I think.

Where to buy?
This can only be found in the Xbox Live Marketplace, but can be played on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
