The series in which I share a gaming tip or trick. Sometimes these are things I notice, sometimes things I have to look up. Hopefully, they help. ♥
***Farming Items*** Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age
I just recently bought Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age and I haven't stopped playing it since it arrived. I've never played this one before. I'm finding it rather fascinating.
To that end, I'm learning things other FF gamers probably figured out years ago. Particularly, item farming. I noticed that when you leave an area, you can turn around and go back, respawning any chests you'd already collected.
Now, it doesn't respawn all of them, every time. In the example below, you'll see how many times it changes each time I go back into the room. ▼
The blog series in which I share still shots from a randomly selected game. Today's selection is FFXV, specifically the Assassin's Festival, a limited time event celebrating the release of Assassin's Creed Origins. Enjoy! ♥
***Assassin's Festival*** Final Fantasy XV DLC LIMITED TIME EVENT
The series in which I share some funny meme, quiz you, my lovely readers and fellow gamers, or find some other thing that qualifies as "fun." Today's is the reveal for the one I posted a long, long time ago....
***Name that Game! #2*** Fun Friday
Remember this picture? I posted a "Name that Game" way back in May and this was the image. Can you name this game? If you immediately said The Last of Us, you are spot on. Do you know the character? Yeah, that's Tess. If you got both, great job! You officially have permission to brag like crazy. Enjoy that! ♥
The series in which I talk about old stuff: games, consoles, gear, what have you...
***Let's Talk Final Fantasy*** Throwback Thursday
With the somewhat recent release of FFXV (I know, it's been over a year now, so not really recent anymore) and the upcoming release of the FFVII REMAKE, I thought it only made sense to talk about a series that's been around for 30 years. So let's talk!
It all began with Final Fantasy on the NES. I played that. Good game. It didn't replace Dragon Warrior as my favorite JRPG on NES, however.
The blog series in which I yammer on about some game or game-related item that I'm really looking forward to owning. There are so many....
***On the Horizon*** Devil May Cry HD Collection
Totally swiped this graphic from Capcom's DMC blog.
It links back to them, so click it for more info.
Capcom announced on Dec 7 that they would be releasing the Devil May Cry HD Collection again, but this time for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It's set to release March 13, 2018.
No, this game is not new. In fact, it's three really OLD games from the days of PS2. They were packed together and prettied up a bit for PS3 and 360, but now they're being once-overed yet again for PC and newer-gen consoles.
The really great thing about this news isn't that they're being released on newer-gen consoles. No, it's that DMC 1 and 2 are finally being released on PC. These games have never been available for PC before, so for those of us who really like our PCs, YAY!!!
Honestly, I think the only reason I bought this was the $1 sale price on GOG. And they gave me another game free just for spending the money. That was a bonus.
Rebel Galaxy (PC)—
This one was free when I bought Two Worlds. That's why I have it now.
Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness (PS4)—
So, yeah, I have the other Star Ocean games, and even though I've never finished one of them, I still bought this. I've started playing it and so far, it's cute.
Bayonetta Bloody Fate (Blu-ray)—
I played the first game and thought it was funny, if a little too much aimed at male players. Figured I oughtta at least give the movie a view, just to see. It's ok.
Fairy Fencer F (PC)—
It was on sale and seemed right up my alley. Only a few hours of gameplay in and I'm totally NOT regretting the purchase. Oh, the toilet humor....
Mount & Blade (PC)—
Another game with a description that appealed to me and a low enough price tag that I decided to take a chance. We'll see. I also grabbed Warband, With Fire and Sword, and some DLC while I was at it.
RPG Maker VX Ace (PC)—
...and VX, XP, MV, 2000, and 2003, plus a crap-ton of DLC. Yeah, it was a package deal, and yeah, not a game. Really cute, though, and I figured I'd put my writing "talent" to good use.
Oddworld: New N Tasty (PC)—
A remake (not remaster) of the original Abe's Odyssee. I remember enjoying the original (yeah, I'm super old), so yeah, I grabbed this when the price was something I could handle.
Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age Collector's Edition (PS4)—
Squeenix sent me an email saying this CE was on sale... $80 off the retail. Still a pricey collection, but I didn't have the re-release yet and I've been eyeballing this collection for a long time. I've played enough of it to realize how much more I like the XII moogles as opposed to the 'white ball of fluff' moogles they use now. And Balthier has replaced Cloud as my FF crush...but I have a feeling that will change again when the FFVII REMAKE comes out.
Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris Gold Edition—
Not a game this time, at least, this set doesn't actually come with a copy anyway. But that's OK; I already have this game for PC. This little set has an artbook, a map, and a funny little big-headed Lara Croft figure. I just can't say no to neat figures from video games...especially when they're on sale.
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice (PC)—
I've wanted this for years. I followed the development like the very best of gaming stalkers. I considered buying it right off the bat, but I couldn't handle $30 at the time. I saw it was available on GOG and knew I'd buy it from them. (I do like the idea that I can play a game without internet and I can transfer it to a non-internet PC without people thinking I'm doing something nefarious with it.) The Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale put it just within my price range.
Might & Magic 1-6 (PC)—
I'm not sure how I'll like these, but they were on sale on GOG for a whopping $2.49 for all six games. Hard to turn that down...
Gotten anything new lately? Tell us about it in the comments! ♥
The series in which I share a gaming tip. Some are ones I realized, some are ones I had to look up. Today's tip is one that I realized in my 3rd (or so) playthrough...
***Steal Your Way to a Trophy!*** Assassin's Creed II
There's an achievement in Assassin's Creed II called Kleptomaniac. You have to steal 1000 florins to get it. This isn't hard, really, but is a bit time-consuming, and can be very annoying when soldiers try to kill you for it. I recently stumbled across a way to avoid the soldiers, at least. This probably isn't new information to most fans of this game, but maybe it will help some newbies. ▼
The blog series where I show you a gaming vid...it's almost always me playing...sometimes not very well. Today's is not awful, but could be better. :)
***Shootin' Gourds*** Bastion
In the platforming-ish action RPG-ish Bastion, there are challenge levels. These offer prizes for getting a certain score. Below, I've linked one of these challenges, and me getting a score that netted me the top prize. I'm not normally that...um...talented. LOL ▼
The Moogle Chocobo Carnival is back in FFXV and that means you have another shot at taking on the photo challenge. For this week's tip, I'm not only helping you out with this, I'm giving you the locations. For this, I broke the whole thing down into 6 different videos.
SPOILER ALERT! If you don't want the locations, check out this tip I posted the first time this DLC came out: Photo Challenge Tip (FFXV Carnival DLC). It only gives away one location, just enough to show you how to find the rest.
The weekly series in which I share a gaming vid, usually provided by yours truly. Today is just such a video. Enjoy! ♥
***Taking on a Behemoth*** Final Fantasy XV Episode Prompto DLC
There comes a time in every gamer girl's life when she wants all the trophies. To that end, I went after one I actually figured I couldn't get: the Emperor Deposed trophy/achievement in the Episode Prompto DLC from FFXV.
You can't even guess how shocked I was when I managed it, on normal difficulty, on my very first try. I'm still in shock. It's not a pretty battle, and I definitely couldn't have done it without Aranea's help; she's level 50-something while Prompto is stuck at 30-something...the boss is 99.
The weekly...or sporadic...series in which I share a game-related video.
***Crash Test: Regalia Type-D*** Final Fantasy XV (June 2017 Update)
It's Monday and that means a new gaming vid from yours truly! Today's video is of the newly released Regalia Type-D in Final Fantasy XV. This thing is so much FUN to drive. But I suck at it. As usual. Enjoy! ▼
The weekly blog series all about gaming fun. Enjoy! ♥
***Name That Game!*** Fun Friday
Did you guess last week's game based on the shared screenshot? If you thought Borderlands, you are absolutely correct! If you thought the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned DLC specifically, even better. Great job! ♥
