You are Prince Noctis and you and your friends have just arrived at the Assassin's Creed Festival in Lestallum. Have fun, kids!
First impressions?
First impressions?
A watered-down version of the original Assassin's Creed. But it should be. It's just a festival to celebrate the newly released AC Origins game.
Graphics and voices?
Graphics and voices?
It's FFXV, so just like FFXV. Nice. Of course.
Gameplay?
Despite appearances, no, Prompto is not holding Gladio's hand... |
Gameplay?
Awkward. But that could have more to do with my having just played ACII, and wanting the same controls in this mini-DLC. AC Fest uses FFXV controls, of course, so I had a few awkward moments in the beginning. Imagine trying to leap into a hay wagon, intent on escaping an approaching magitek soldier, and instead of leaping, you slam into it, or worse, you stand in the middle of it as if it's not even there? Yeah, I didn't do that either. Not even once. Heh.
Storyline?
The boys just want to kick back, relax, and celebrate a game series they like. Things aren't that easy, though, and they end up having to rescue Cindy's friend Holly. As far as storyline goes, it's pretty thin, but it's not horrible.
Complaints?
Awkward controls, silly dialogue, glitchy graphics, and thin storyline. But it's a free DLC that's essentially advertising a whole other game entirely. What more can you expect?
Oh, and there's no fishing. Believe it or not, I was disappointed. Weird, huh?
Praise?
You get to perform the Leap of Faith. That's one of my favorite aspects of AC games, so I was quite pleased they included it in this little DLC.

Overall?
Definitely worth playing at least once, if for no other reason than to get the additional filter for Prompto's camera (if you like the picture taking part of this game), a new recipe, the Medjay Assassin Shield, the Assassin outfits for Noct and the guys, and the other one or two things you can get for Assassin Medals.
