New Loot! (#17)

Here's another I forgot, this time a gift from hubby. He spoils me rotten.

Wow, I sound ungrateful. The only reason I forgot is because it's an Xbox One game and I'm still trying to not hate that particular console. Not much of an excuse for forgetting, but it's all I've got. ;)

***Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor***
Game of the Year Edition

Published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
Developed by Monolith Productions
Released 2015
Action Adventure
*Rated M for Mature 17+*

Xbox had a sale on this and hubby grabbed it for me 'cause he thought it was one I'd like. I do. It's very Assassin's Creed-y with sneaking, trailing, and that sort of thing. Not really my favorite part of AC, but the rest of the gameplay is similar enough to be enjoyable. Too bad I kinda hate orcs. LOL

...come to think of it, the fact that they're orcs makes it easier for me to stab 'em from the bushes. Kinda. Not really. Oh well. I'm fascinated enough with Tolkien's Middle Earth to play the game and see where the developers decided to take it.

This game is available for PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and Mac, as well as PS4 and Xbox One. Get it from Amazon, Walmart, Gamestop, Steam, or your local used game store.

Until next time...

New Loot! (#16)

Another Xbox 360 game that's been on my wishlist for some time...

***Nier***

Published by Square Enix
Developed by Cavia
Released 2010
Action RPG
*Rated M for Mature 17+*

I've been wanting this since I first heard about it. The price was a little high for me, though, so I added it to my Amazon wishlist and watched it for quite a while before I broke down and decided to trust one of the Amazon Marketplace sellers. I grabbed a used (very good condition) copy for about $15.

I'm glad I did. If it wasn't for a little wear to the case, I'd have called it like new. The disc is pristine, though I haven't played it yet. I assume it works.

Until next time...

New Loot! (#15)

Now that I have a PS4 I gotta build up my collection.

***Final Fantasy X/X-2***
HD Remaster
Limited Edition

Published by Square Enix
Developed by Square Enix
Released 2014/2015
Playstation Exclusive
*Rated T for Teen*

I never got the opportunity to play FFX since I didn't have a PS2 for long. (I actually had one, once upon a time, but I only ever had two or three games for it. I think I only spent a total of 2 hrs playing the thing. Which is weird when I think about it now...)

I got the PS4 Limited Edition, not the PS3 version, but I've included the link to the PS3 version anyway. That's the first time the HD remaster was released. The PS4 limited edition includes a neat desk calendar. As far as I can tell, that's the only difference between the PS4 Limited and Standard Editions.

***DmC Devil May Cry***
Definitive Edition

Published by Capcom
Developed by Ninja Theory
Released 2015
*Rated M for Mature 17+*

I have the standard edition for Xbox 360 (as well as all the DLC), and now I've finally gotten my hands on the Definitive Edition for the PS4. I have the Def Ed now and that means I have access to the extra stuff you can't get with the standard edition.

***Assassin's Creed Unity***
Limited Edition

Published by Ubisoft
Developed by Ubisoft
Released 2015
*Rated M for Mature 17+*

I collect these games. I still abhor the whole sneaking around stabbing people thing, but I just can't NOT get one when it comes out. I've heard things about this game that makes me think it was a bit rushed out the door, but I still need to give it a playthrough and see for myself what's great and what's not. I already know the setting is spectacular, so I'm looking forward to that. I got the PS4 version, and it will be weird learning a different controller for this game, but I'll master it. The LE includes an extra mission of some sort, but that's all I know at the moment.

Until next time...

On the Horizon (#5) - Rating Update

Funny thing. I recently posted that I am looking forward to Battleborn, the next big thing from 2K and Gearbox Software. I assumed it would be rated M for Mature 17+ but I was mistaken. The box art and Amazon listings now say it's rated T for Teen. Gotta say it'd be nice if baddies didn't explode into bloody chunks when they're shot. That's my least favorite part of Borderlands.

Until next time...

New Loot! (#14)

Adding to my PC collection...

***The Witcher***
Enhanced Edition

Published by Atari
Developed by CD Projekt RED
Released 2008
*Rated M for Mature 17+*

So this is a PC only game, and as such does not work with an Xbox controller. I'm a little weirded out about that—I've NEVER played a PC game with a keyboard unless you count the billion clicker games I used to play... right, even that's not a keyboard, just a mouse. But I've played Witcher 2, so I wanted to get the "beginning" of the story. And yes, I will then play Witcher III and continue the story. I do love a good story with my game.

I've installed this game on my PC, but there are issues, so I have to tweak some things before I can play it. Good thing I married a computer nerd...

***The Last Remnant***

Published by Square Enix
Developed by Square Enix
Released 2009
*Rated M for Mature 17+*

I already own this for Xbox 360 (really like this game) and now I have the PC edition. I have a feeling I'll be collecting all my favorite console games on PC too.

Until next time...
