New Loot! (#19)

I can't seem to stop buying games, even knowing I don't have time to play them all. There's something broken in my head...

***Heavenly Sword***

Published by Sony Computer Entertainment
Developed by Ninja Theory
Released 2007
PlayStation Exclusive
*Rated T for Teen*

I bought a PS3 game and I don't even have a PS3. I think that might mean I have a problem. However, this is a Ninja Theory game and I LOVE them. L.O.V.E. It's an unhealthy obsession, really. Stalkerly, even. OK, maybe not that bad. Still.

Oh, and guess what else? I discovered there's a movie of this game, one that runs parallel to the game, according to the reviews I've read on Amazon. I've added it to my wishlist, of course.

***Dante's Inferno***

Published by EA Games
Developed by Visceral Games
Released 2010
*Rated M for Mature 17+*

Um, yeah. I can't exactly remember why I got this other than it seemed to be the type of game I'd enjoy. I don't even remember exactly what it's about, other than the classic poem by Dante. You know the one. Inferno? [snort]

***N3 Ninety Nine Nights***

Published by Microsoft Studios
Developed by Q Entertainment/Phantagram
Released 2006
Xbox Exclusive
*Rated M for Mature 17+*

I have the second game, so I needed the first. Right? Am I right? Yeah, sure. Anyway, I got it. I'll play it. I enjoy the second game though it gives me fits from time to time. Crazy psycho, throw-the-controller fits. Yeah... there's  definitely something broken in my head...

***Venetica***

Published by dtp entertainment/Atari
Developed by Deck 13 Interactive
Released 2009
*Rated T for Teen*

Another I bought 'cause it seemed like a game I'd like. I opted for the PC version 'cause it was cheaper and I like my PC. We'll see how that goes...

Also available for PS3.

***The Last Wish***
Introducing the Witcher

Written by Andrzej Sapkowski
Published by Orbit
Released 2008

Not a game, but certainly related to a few. I'm not sure how much I'll actually like this book, but I figured I'd buy the first in the series and give it a shot. I have a feeling the gore might be a little more than I'm comfortable with, but who knows. Maybe the games are more graphic. LOL

Until next time...

On the Horizon (#6)

Let's keep this short and sweet...

***World of Final Fantasy***

Will be published by Square Enix
Being developed by Square Enix (I assume)
Tentative release date 2016
*Rating Pending*
(will most likely be t for teen)

I don't know anything about this game. Doesn't really matter. If it says Final Fantasy, I want it. However, if it ends up being online only, I probably won't get it. That would make me sad. :'(

—Game Review— Resonance of Fate

I admit, I wasn't initially interested in this game. The gun thing turned me off. Hubby didn't know that, however, so he bought it for me at the local used game store after the employee there recommended the game based on my joy of JRPGs.

...and that employee was spot on.

New Loot! (#18)

Another gift from hubby and a wishlist splurge too...

***Final Fantasy Type-0 HD***
Collector's Edition

Published by Square Enix
Developed by Square Enix
Released 2015
*Rated M for Mature 17+*

I told hubby I wanted this and he went over to eBay and grabbed it for me. This is a bit of a different thing from the regular FF games in that it's rated M. There's blood, and some hinky scenes where you're not entirely sure nothing bad is happening. All a bit strange for a FF game, but I'm rolling with it.

The collector's edition is pretty cool. There's an artbook, a manga comic that gives a little lead-in to the game storyline (or so I'm given to understand; I haven't read it yet), a disc of music from the game, and Ace's cards, as well as the game in a golden steelbook case (the soundtrack disc goes in this case too).

But the best part, in my opinion, is the FFXV Episode Duscae download code that came with it. When I pulled that out, I saw the expiration date (March 2016) and immediately got it downloaded. This is the playable demo that was released with FF Type-0. They called it a Day One bonus or something like that. I can't remember, but I do remember the hype surrounding it. This is a highly anticipated game. I'm looking forward to the full version, but in the meantime, I'll play the demo.

*This collector's edition is also available for Xbone. If you click the image above, it will take you to Amazon, and you'll see the little link for the Xbone edition.

***Borderlands***
The Handsome Collection

Published by 2K Games
Developed by Gearbox Software
Released 2015
*Rated M for Mature 17+*

I'm a bit of a Borderlands junkie. Hubby and I each have the Xbox 360 GOTY edition of Borderlands and the standard edition of Borderlands 2. Hubby has the standard edition of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, plus he bought the season pass for both games. Since I didn't have the pre-sequel, I grabbed the PS4 edition of the Handsome Collection. This also gave me all the DLC for B2, which I never had before. And yes, I'll probably grab the PC versions of all these games eventually. Like I said: JUNKIE.

Unfortunately, since I got the playstation version, hubby and I can't play together unless we play split screen, which we kinda hate. I also can't grab my game saves, so I have to play them again right from the start.

Oh, woe is me. LOL

Until next time...

New Loot! (#17)

Here's another I forgot, this time a gift from hubby. He spoils me rotten.

Wow, I sound ungrateful. The only reason I forgot is because it's an Xbox One game and I'm still trying to not hate that particular console. Not much of an excuse for forgetting, but it's all I've got. ;)

***Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor***
Game of the Year Edition

Published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
Developed by Monolith Productions
Released 2015
Action Adventure
*Rated M for Mature 17+*

Xbox had a sale on this and hubby grabbed it for me 'cause he thought it was one I'd like. I do. It's very Assassin's Creed-y with sneaking, trailing, and that sort of thing. Not really my favorite part of AC, but the rest of the gameplay is similar enough to be enjoyable. Too bad I kinda hate orcs. LOL

...come to think of it, the fact that they're orcs makes it easier for me to stab 'em from the bushes. Kinda. Not really. Oh well. I'm fascinated enough with Tolkien's Middle Earth to play the game and see where the developers decided to take it.

This game is available for PS3, Xbox 360, PC, and Mac, as well as PS4 and Xbox One. Get it from Amazon, Walmart, Gamestop, Steam, or your local used game store. ☺

Until next time...

New Loot! (#16)

Another Xbox 360 game that's been on my wishlist for some time...

***Nier***

Published by Square Enix
Developed by Cavia
Released 2010
Action RPG
*Rated M for Mature 17+*

I've been wanting this since I first heard about it. The price was a little high for me, though, so I added it to my Amazon wishlist and watched it for quite a while before I broke down and decided to trust one of the Amazon Marketplace sellers. I grabbed a used (very good condition) copy for about $15.

I'm glad I did. If it wasn't for a little wear to the case, I'd have called it like new. The disc is pristine, though I haven't played it yet. I assume it works.

Until next time...

New Loot! (#15)

Now that I have a PS4 I gotta build up my collection. ☺

***Final Fantasy X/X-2***
HD Remaster
Limited Edition

Published by Square Enix
Developed by Square Enix
Released 2014/2015
Playstation Exclusive
*Rated T for Teen*

I never got the opportunity to play FFX since I didn't have a PS2 for long. (I actually had one, once upon a time, but I only ever had two or three games for it. I think I only spent a total of 2 hrs playing the thing. Which is weird when I think about it now...)

I got the PS4 Limited Edition, not the PS3 version, but I've included the link to the PS3 version anyway. That's the first time the HD remaster was released. The PS4 limited edition includes a neat desk calendar. As far as I can tell, that's the only difference between the PS4 Limited and Standard Editions.

***DmC Devil May Cry***
Definitive Edition

Published by Capcom
Developed by Ninja Theory
Released 2015
*Rated M for Mature 17+*

I have the standard edition for Xbox 360 (as well as all the DLC), and now I've finally gotten my hands on the Definitive Edition for the PS4. I have the Def Ed now and that means I have access to the extra stuff you can't get with the standard edition.

***Assassin's Creed Unity***
Limited Edition

Published by Ubisoft
Developed by Ubisoft
Released 2015
*Rated M for Mature 17+*

I collect these games. I still abhor the whole sneaking around stabbing people thing, but I just can't NOT get one when it comes out. I've heard things about this game that makes me think it was a bit rushed out the door, but I still need to give it a playthrough and see for myself what's great and what's not. I already know the setting is spectacular, so I'm looking forward to that. I got the PS4 version, and it will be weird learning a different controller for this game, but I'll master it. The LE includes an extra mission of some sort, but that's all I know at the moment.

Until next time...

On the Horizon (#5) - Rating Update

Funny thing. I recently posted that I am looking forward to Battleborn, the next big thing from 2K and Gearbox Software. I assumed it would be rated M for Mature 17+ but I was mistaken. The box art and Amazon listings now say it's rated T for Teen. Gotta say it'd be nice if baddies didn't explode into bloody chunks when they're shot. That's my least favorite part of Borderlands.

Until next time...

New Loot! (#14)

Adding to my PC collection...

***The Witcher***
Enhanced Edition

Published by Atari
Developed by CD Projekt RED
Released 2008
*Rated M for Mature 17+*

So this is a PC only game, and as such does not work with an Xbox controller. I'm a little weirded out about that—I've NEVER played a PC game with a keyboard unless you count the billion clicker games I used to play... right, even that's not a keyboard, just a mouse. But I've played Witcher 2, so I wanted to get the "beginning" of the story. And yes, I will then play Witcher III and continue the story. I do love a good story with my game.

I've installed this game on my PC, but there are issues, so I have to tweak some things before I can play it. Good thing I married a computer nerd...

***The Last Remnant***

Published by Square Enix
Developed by Square Enix
Released 2009
*Rated M for Mature 17+*

I already own this for Xbox 360 (really like this game) and now I have the PC edition. I have a feeling I'll be collecting all my favorite console games on PC too.

Until next time...
