Screenshot Saturday (#10) - Clash of Heroes

I'm not the biggest fan of puzzle games, though there is the occasional one I enjoy. Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes is one of those games.

—Beta Review— Battleborn

I was fortunate to be part of the Battleborn Closed Technical Test several months ago, and then I took part in the Open Beta that ended April 18. Both were fun, though the CTT was different for me. I had to play multiplayer and I normally don't do that. For the Open Beta I could do all story missions in a private playthrough, which was definitely more in my comfort zone.

The following review is for the Open Beta specifically, of course.

Movie Monday (#6) - FFXV Platinum Demo

Final Fantasy is my love and I've never tried to hide that. I grab everything FF I can get my hands on. So, of course, I grabbed the FFXV Platinum Demo that's totally free for PS4 and Xbox One. It's cute. Wanna see how cute? Watch this video. Oh, yeah, this is me playing the PS4 version.

With the release of FFXV right around the corner (haha! Not 'til September, lol!), I thought a few screenshots from the Episode Duscae demo were in order.

—Demo Review— Final Fantasy XV Platinum Demo

Demos don't typically warrant a review all their own. They're often little more than the first chapter/mission of a game, or a timed portion. Buying the game unlocks the full version which has already more or less been downloaded to your system because you downloaded the demo.

Final Fantasy XV, however, is different. It got two demos, neither of which are parts of the final product, but are more like additional chapters to the game's storyline.

I've gotten my hands on both demos and each deserves its own review.

Movie Monday (#5) - Lightning Returns (FFXIII)

I'm insanely addicted to the Final Fantasy franchise. I've been slowly collecting them and can now say I have every one that's available for console or PC. Some of them I have on multiple platforms.

This week's featured video is from Lightning Returns, the third entry in the FFXIII series of Final Fantasy. I've taken so many videos of this game, but none of them are more than 30 secs. (They're that short 'cause my only vid capturing software is Fraps' free version.) That said, here's a short vid of Lightning taking out a Reaver with the elementa spell and generous use of the Overclock function. Enjoy! ♥

Screenshot Saturday (#8) - Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

For today's screenshots, here're are a few from Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. This is [currently] my favorite game. I freakin' love it. That is all.

Did you know...? (#1)

And now I begin a new series of posts in which I share little gaming tidbits because.... well, 'cause I want to. These bits of info will probably be old news to many gamers, but I'm sure I'm not the only one making the switch from one console to another, or someone new to the gaming world in general. Either way, this is my blog and I'll post any old bit of outdated info I want. :D

Here goes...

**PS3 plays PS1 games**

If you own a PlayStation 3, you can get your retro gaming on by grabbing a PS1 game (lots of cheap ones in used game stores, on Amazon, or Ebay) and plopping it in. Yeah, this is probably old news to most of you PlayStation Zealots, but for those of us just finding our PS groove—again, or for the first time—this is epic.

First, make sure you create a virtual memory card on your system. It has two virtual card "slots" just like the PS1s, which means you can only have two "active" memory cards, but you can create as many memory cards as you can fit on your hard drive. There's a "memory card utility" section under "game" in the dashboard. It's kinda self-explanatory from there.

All you do then is put in the game you wanna play and have fun. It really is that simple. It doesn't work with PS2 games, unfortunately, unless you have one of the early PS3 models—if memory serves, the 80 GB models were the ones that played PS2 games, but don't quote me on that.

Until next time...

Movie Monday (#4) - Borderlands

Here's another little clip for your Movie Monday enjoyment. This is one of my own game vidz. Again, not great, but mildly amusing. At least to me. ;)

This one might not be enjoyable for you if you're not into first person shooters, sniping, or games wherein baddies explode into bloody chunks. Mmmm, chunky.

Gross.

Screenshot Saturday (#6) - Borderlands

I have a bit of an obsession with the Borderlands games. I recently got the PC edition of the first game. Here's a nasty screen capture for your gruesome pleasure. ;)

Sniping with Mordecai

Yeah, this is right at the beginning of the game. I was sniping baddies and took a few out with a headshot. I managed to [kinda] grab a screenshot right after getting a headshot. Pretty gross. lol

And here's Mordecai. He's my precious...
